My four newest dogs for Wild-Dogs

This is no part of the Wild-Dogs comic, but it will show a bit more about my four newest dogs of the story. I got them all from my friend ^^

I’ll tell it as little story. Starts now:

“Again just a stupid, bored day,” Theodor said. The small red dog stretched his hind legs before he ran to his pack mates. Coal, the thin blue dog stood up with a giant yawn, “I’m hungry. We should go and eat the rest of our rabbit. We found yesterday."
“But there’s almost nothing anymore,” Theodor interrupted, "We rather should try a new place for hunt.”
“Hunt?” Coal spat, “We always fail at hunt. The rabbit died because the naked apes rammed it with their machine while we were trying to catch it. I don’t want to die of hunger because we leave that thing behind and walk away to hunt. Get it?”
“Calm down, Coal,” Callion, a large brown and white dog rose and walked over to them, “Theodor is right. We can’t stay here forever and wait every single day that a naked ape is coming to help us. We wanted to leave them. That means we have to leave their villages as well.”
“We’ll die there as long as we aren’t able to hunt!” Coal growled, but Callion ignored him and walked away, Theodor on his heels. With a snarl Coal followed.

Thirsty Callion licked bit drops of dew from a few blades of grass. The heat was unusual for this season, but Callion didn’t show any kind of weakness. He was the leader of his little pack now. Since days the pack haven’t seen any naked apes, or their villages, or machines. They also weren’t able to catch any prey. Weak by hunger the pack walked very slow and hopeless.
Their mood got better when they found a duck with an injured wing. Coal was the fastest of them and put his last strengths together to hunt the helpless bird with tried to fly away. After a few leaps Coal hit the duck down with his paw and bit its neck to kill it. The pack yowled in joy and triumph. When Callion wanted to start eating he pricked his ears and looked at a nearly bush.
“What’s wrong, Callion?” Theodor looked at his leader, worried.
“Did you hear that?” Callion asked and stepped over to the bush at disappeared behind it. When Coal and Theodor followed Coal barked pleased, “Great, even more food.”
Callion looked at Coal, shocked, “Food? This is a dog pup.”
“We can’t eat someone who is like us, can we?” Theodor asked unsure if he should be happy or worried.
“Sure we can. Look how small she is. The duck won’t be enough for us all. We need more food if we want to survive.” Theodor nodded slowly. Just Callion’s neck fur bristled angry. When he looked at the very small female dog, which let out whimpering yelps of fear, his eyes were full with grief. Should he really become a murderer just to feed their bellies a bit more?
Coal stepped toward the small piece of gray fur, growling, “Don’t worry. It won’t hurt much.”
“Stop!” Callion ordered and walked relaxed between Coal and the little one, “You say we should eat her? Well, I’ve a much better idea.”
“And what should be better then surviving?” Coal spat.
Callion tried to look amused about it, “Just think about it. We’re alone and all of us are males. Even when we eat her, what are we doing after? Without at last one female between us our pack will die sooner or later. No matter how many prey we could catch.”
“Are you stupid? She’s a pup”, Coal interrupted.
“Right now, yes. But she won’t stay a pup,” Callion reminded him.
“Look at her size. Even fully grown up she still will be smaller then Theodor. What a use has a tiny thing like her?”
Callion snapped at Coal’s face direction, which dodged away and looked shocked at his leader.
“None of you will harm her, understand? She’s our new pack mate now, and I’ll protect her with my life!” Callion growled. Theodor and Coal just nodded.
Eased Callion lay down in front of the little dog and licked gentle over her head, “From now on, you will be known as Ember. Welcome in our pack, my dear.”
Ember gazed up at the huge dog in front of her and let out a tiny yowl of joy.
